Chicago Hero Matthew Leone will be back on stage at Metro on April 23rd, joining Madina Lake for the first time since being critically injured last June. Matthew was walking down the street when he witnessed a man beating his wife and intervened. In return for his selfless deed, the coulple attacked and viciously beat him. Family, friends, fans, and complete strangers who admired Matthew’s actions organized several benefit shows to ease the burden of his very expensive medical bills. We are astonished and proud of not only Matthew Leone, but the Chicago community for pulling together to help out a friend in need. We hope to see many of your faces at Metro to give Matt a warm welcome back!
Also on the bill are sort-of newcomers Super Happy Fun Club. You may recognize members from some of their other bands including: Lucky Boys Confusion, Logan Square, One Life, and The Waiting Game. The band’s newest member is guitarist Phil Kosch of Treaty of Paris fame. Phil is a man of the people; whether he’s working at Double Door, or rocking your face off at a show, if you know Chicago music odds are you know Phil Kosch! We’re thrilled with the new addition and we can’t wait for Super Happy Fun Club to release new music this summer!
With New York natives Static Summer and Chicago locals Stay Golden sharing the stage it is sure to be a great night for music! Be sure to grab your tickets they go on sale tomorrow at noon and will go fast!
